My family member had stroke and she’s still at McCormick Nursing Home. With every fiber of my being, I wish she could be transferred to a better facility. When I went to see her….she had not been gotten out of that bed since arrival (8 days(. She had not been given a shower…not a clean up and diaper change but a shower. She is cognitive and can speak her wishes. She had not been assessed and the bathroom was nasty, I had to get custodial in there to clean it. My sister went yesterday to see her and my other sister said she asked for a mug of ice 3 hours ago and was still waiting. There are no bed rails on her bed. For whatever reason they do not use them. That should be decided by individual patients assessment. My sister uses rails to pull herself over in the bed. I was told that the “Rules” for showers is patients only get a bed bath every two days and that’s it…..totally unexceptable. Staff get aggravated with patients and have no urgent need to respond to request. Despite custodial staff, the facility and rooms stink. And there are no recliner chairs in the rooms so patients like my sister can be moved from the bed to a recliner chair. I am very concerned she will developed co festive heart failure if she is left in that bed on her back. She can’t even cough properly. She needs a speedometer brought to her so she can take deep breaths. So no, I do not like this place…I think it needs to be closed by the state..torn down and rebuilt and brought up to date.

i don’t have the words to adequately express my gratitude for mccormick PA. i trusted them with my loved one and they couldn’t have done a better job. they were there on the good days, the bad days, and the worst day. care carts were brought to our room when we had spent hours upon hours there in my loved one’s final moments. they hugged him, loved him, called him “papa,” and prayed with us as time was drawing near. i can’t thank them enough for making sure he was always clean, shaved, and comfortable. i would recommended this facility to anyone who asks. carrie (their night shift nurse) will always hold a special place in my heart. thank you mccormick PA— yall are outstanding.

This is a horrible place! My dad just called me crying because they haven’t checked him since this morning. He has cancer and just recently broke his hip. This is a horrible facility!!I will be contacting corporate about the staff they hire to run this place. Then to take his call light and throw it on the floor. That is abuse!!!Furthermore the administrator didn’t care at all about what happened to my father.

I hope things have changed – less than 1 year ago, a family member of mine stayed at this facility for a few weeks. The experience was so disturbing, it has taken me a year to revisit the pain of seeing it to write this down. I have worked at many assisted living homes, senior care centers, Alzheimer’s units… I understand the goal of this facility is rehab. My family member had 1 leg, he was in his mid 70s with complicating factors like emphysema, diabetes and a heart condition… he also, spoke to his family every day, wanted to get better, survived his home being crushed in the hurricane and displacement, and had been fine just 2 weeks prior to his arrival. My point, he was a person, with value and people who loved him dearly. He relayed that he was heavily medicated at this facility, was left in a room for days before they would move him or help me adjust. He became covered in bed sores, his diabetic sores soured, became weaker and ultimately passed in the company of our family at his local hospital. When I walked through to pick up his things after his passing, I saw people who appeared to have been left. The staff was so lethargic that I began animatedly chatting with them to try and perk them up before I realized they were not patients… I hope things have changed… I hope a lot has changed. What I saw. What he told us he experienced. Was not right. If you work there, please know that you make a difference. Please know your SMILE makes it better. Your kind word makes it easier. Your encouragement makes it possible. Remember that it will be you there one day and stay humble to that fact… we are all people. You matter. So do they. ♡

My uncle was in there for a couple of days for rehab and I can say he was taking care by everyone and they made sure he had everything he needed for his care when he went home

Seem like a great facility. Only there for a meeting but enjoyed seeing the residents play Bingo.

My grandmother spent several months here for rehab and then for hospice. I don’t have adequate words to describe our experience here. The staff always went above and beyond simply doing their jobs. They were friends to her and to us. They gave her the very best care and made the last days of her life very happy. 10/10

Many, not all, scary and hateful staff members. Call bell in bathroom and at personal bed didn’t work even after being reported on several occasions.

I have a sister down there , she has been there since last Thursday. I have been calling everyday trying to find out how she is doing. Most of the time the phone just rings and no one answers or if you get someone they will tell you they will have the patiences nurse to call you, they never call. I haven’t got in touch with anyone yet
